Missouri Confederate Pension Applications - Polk County:

Missouri Pensions for Ex-Confederate Soldiers were approved 23 April 1913. An applicant was required to have been a resident of the state two years prior to making application. An applicant was not required to have served from Missouri. Not all applications were the same, therefore not all items were included on all forms. Some applications to the Confederate Soldiers' Home in Higginsville, Missouri, were accepted prior to 1900.

Abstracted items include: Name of applicant, P.O. address, age, date of application in parenthesis, where and when he entered service, death date if noted. When actual birth date was given, it is quoted. When an application for the Confederate Home was included an asterisk (*) precedes the name.
